ALFRED NIAUDET
Dears has indeed been busy in the electrical world this ear. It is but a few weeks since Cromwell Varley and ichard Werdermann were taken away, and now tbe melancholy duty devolves upon us of recording the death of Alfred Niaudet. M. Niaudet was a member of the well known firm of Breguet of Paris, and io this capacity made the acquaintance of many of the best known electricians and inventors of the day, both in France and England. His death a to have been sudden and almost unexpected. He died on the 11th inst., at the age which is usually considered the prime of life, viz., forty-eight.
The loss that electrical science has sustained in the death of Alfred Niaudet is great, and will be felt far beyond the shores of his own country. His capabilities may be estimated from the work he accomplished during his short life, of which we have here given but a faint outline.—The Hlee-
